Kholodna Hora is one of Kharkiv’s oldest districts, defined by its distinctive terrain: steep climbs, sharp descents, and winding streets. These features create elevated risk for vehicles — engines overheat on long uphill sections, brakes fail on descents, and icy or rain-soaked bends cause accidents throughout the colder months. Express24 responds to call-outs in Kholodna Hora around the clock and arrives within 20–40 minutes depending on traffic conditions along the route.
Our drivers know the district’s terrain in detail: the hazardous stretches, the access roads to individual yards, and the correct approach angles for working on slopes. When a vehicle breaks down or is in an accident on a hillside, the positioning of the tow truck and the loading method chosen are critical to a safe vehicle transport.
The terrain here poses challenges that simply do not exist in flat residential districts. Loading a vehicle on a gradient, keeping the tow truck stable while working on a slope, and safely descending a loaded flatbed all require specific experience and properly equipped vehicles.
When a vehicle stops or is involved in an accident on a steep incline or descent, a standard loading procedure can become genuinely dangerous. Our drivers know how to correctly anchor the tow truck on uneven ground and load the vehicle without any risk of it shifting during the operation.
In winter, the slopes of Kholodna Hora become particularly hazardous. Black ice on climbs and bends regularly leads to collisions and vehicles sliding into ditches. Our winch-equipped tow trucks can extract a vehicle from a difficult position on an icy surface safely and without causing further damage.
The district’s terrain and infrastructure generate a specific set of situations that lead drivers to contact us:
For call-outs in this district we select equipment suited to the terrain: sufficient power for slope work and a reliable securing system that holds the loaded platform safely on the descent.
The hydraulic system allows precise adjustment of the platform angle when loading on uneven ground. The vehicle is secured with straps and fasteners that prevent any movement during transport, even on steep sections of the route.
A winch is indispensable for extracting a vehicle from a ditch or from a difficult position on a slope. It enables controlled movement of the car toward the platform without risk of body damage or strain on mechanical components.
Not every towing service has experience working on challenging terrain. Our drivers make regular call-outs to Kholodna Hora and know how to handle the non-standard situations specific to this district.
Pricing is calculated individually based on vehicle type, distance to destination, and loading complexity. No additional charge for terrain difficulty or night-time work — the standard rate applies at all hours. The dispatcher confirms the cost before the truck is dispatched.
